Meet Jocelyn, Birth and Postpartum Doula in Winchester
We are excited to have Jocelyn on our team. We enjoy her fun personality and her love of serving and supporting families as they transition from pregnancy to parenthood. Where did you grow up?
I was born in Rhode Island, but was raised in Jefferson County, WV near Historic Charles Town.
What is your favorite part about West Virginia?
Wow, I have so many favorites. If I had to choose, I would say the view from the cliffs overlooking the confluence of the rivers at the old abandoned Hilltop House Hotel in Harpers Ferry, in the fall!
What is your favorite part about being a mother?
My favorite part of being a mother is as simple as when my girls want to snuggle with me, or when I see myself in them. It is fascinating how they inherit these silly things that I used to do as a child.
Who has inspired you the most?
It is so hard for me to choose one amazing person who has inspired me. Strong women and mothers inspire me. Any person who has been through adversity or hardship and still finds love in their hearts inspires me.
Why did you decide to choose to become a Birth and Postpartum Doula?
I have a knack for comforting people and supporting them no matter their background or situation, even some of my worst enemies. It doesn't hurt that I love babies and take great satisfaction in providing comfort measures to the people around me on a daily basis. I am a natural nurturer. It is great that I can have such a rewarding career doing such.
If you could pick any place in the world, where would it be?
Any place in the world... India. I love the culture, the colors, and the music.
Chocolate or Vanilla?
When it comes to ice cream, definitely chocolate, but when it comes to protein shakes, I have to go with vanilla.
