Why You Need Grape Juice Right Now

The yucky stomach virus with vomiting and diarrhea is running around like crazy right now. What can you do to keep it away from your family? Grape Juice!

When to take it?

Have you recently come into contact with someone who told you after you saw them that they were sick? Are your children one by one falling sick and you desperately want to avoid it? Then you've come to the right place. Before you begin to show symptoms of the stomach bug drink 3 8oz glasses of 100% (no sugar added) grape juice.

Why does it help?

To stay healthy, your body needs an alkaline environment. The virus cannot survive in an alkaline environment, they thrive in acidity. Drinking grape juice, or eating alkaline, foods daily as a preventative will help, but if you've recently come into contact with something, step up your game.

What else is helpful?

Apple Cider Vinegar. We prefer Braggs, but any brand will do. 2 teaspoons in a glass of water for adults and 1 teaspoon in a glass of water for kids.

Probiotics. Probiotics help the body's good bacteria thrive, this prevents bad bacteria from overgrowth and keeps the body's flora balanced. Our health starts in out gut and keeping our gut flora balanced and happy is key.

Why I think it works.

We recently came into contact with someone who told us later that night that they were all sick. I immediately got grape juice and gave it to my daughter and I. I did this religiously for 5 days and neither one of us got sick. Coincidence? I do not think so.

My grandmother, who has had a cup of grape juice every morning for as long as I can remember, rarely gets sick with a stomach bug. Her health isn't perfect, but she certainly seems to avoid the big stuff.
